Kellyville Rural Fire Brigade is in the Baulkham Hills Fire District (Baulkham Hills Shire) Part of the NSW Rural Fire Service Central East Regoin. Kellyville is located in north west of Sydney, sharing\bordering fire services area with other Baulkham Hills Rural Fire Service Units, Blacktown Rural Fire Service & the NSW Fire Brigade.
The traditional bush fire fighting role is giving way to more urban type incidents such as leaks in the natural gas reticulation system, kitchen fires, car fires, rubbish alight ,automatic fire alarms (AFA), and motor vehicle accidents (MVA).
We currently have two tankers , The CAT-1 is primary used for the calls to grass or bush alight and to back up the CAT-2 on Structure or MVA calls. The CAT-2 Tanker is a "composite" tanker which is certified for Bushfire Fighting as well as Structure or MVA Calls, the tanker has 1600 litres of water, 4 SCBA sets, Lighting Equipment, an Water Powered Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan (PPV) and the rest of the normal equipment required to fight fires.
